Monitrice Services

The monitrice fulfills the role of a doula plus provides additional support. As a midwife, Hadassah is trained in assessing vital signs, educating families on fetal palpation, and nutrition among other things. This may allow you to more comfortably labor at home, and travel to the hospital in active labor. When the family arrives at the birthing location the monitrice then serves in the role of a doula, providing no clinical support. This is an excellent option for people who wish to labor at home as long as possible before arriving at another location to give birth.  This service can only be booked if you intend on having a trained medical professional as your care provider and birth attendant. A monitrice does not replace a Midwife or OB.

This service includes :

  • Approximately 6-8 prenatal visits. Prenatal care visits take place in the comfort of your home. We look forward to seeing you monthly until week 32. After that we begin seeing you bi weekly till week 40. Visits range form 45 minutes to an hour.
